What a Year! David Francey gained considerable recognition this year, winning a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Singer of the year! (Read about the Awards Gala) He also won the USA Songwriting Contest for Best Folk Song, The Golden Quill Award for songwriting at this year's 18th Annual Porcupine Awards and was voted one of the top 100 folk artists of the past 25 years by WUMB out of Boston! The Rankin Family recorded “Sunday Morning”
The Rankin Family returns to the concert stage in 2007 in their first cross-Canada, 22-city tour in over eight years. David’s song “Sunday Morning” off his CD ”Waking Hour” is on their new CD, “Reunion” and was put out as a single.

Waking Hour wins the Penguin Eggs Album of the year award and was nominated for a 2005 JUNO!

David's song, "Skating Rink" was the signature song of Hockey Day in Canada.
It was heard on CBC tv and during NHL games in an ad for the 2006 Hockey Day in Canada and was aired on January 6 / 06 as part of the Hockey Day in Canada celebration televised from Stephenville Newfoundland

David's 2005 western fall tour was graciously supported by FACTOR

David's album, Waking Hour, was recorded in Nashville with Kieran Kane, Kevin Welch and Fats Kaplin. Kieran, Kevin and Fats then recorded their latest release, You Can’t Save Everybody. The guys toured these two albums and the concerts were amazing!
