In 2002, David retired from carpentry to pursue his career as a performing artist full time. Since then he has had the great pleasure of being honoured with multiple awards and nominations.

2007

USA Songwriting Competition - David won the First Prize (Folk) of the USA Songwriting Competition with his song "Ballad of Bowser Macrae"

 

WUMB's Top 100 for the last 25 years - In celebration of WUMB's 25th Anniversary, they asked thier listeners to vote for their top ten performers over the past 25 years- David was in the top 100!

 

The Porcupine Awards - David was awarded The Golden Quill Award for songwriting at this year's 18th Annual Porcupine Awards -as part of at CIUT-FM, The University of Toronto radio station's show "Back to the Sugar Camp" with host Steve Fruitman

"Winning a Porcupine does not imply that one is The Best.
But it does imply that they have given their best".

IAMA - International Acoustic Music Awards - Best Male Artist for the song "Greenfields"

USA Songwriting Competition - Finalist in the Folk Category for the song "Waking Hour"

 

WUMB Folk Radio’s Top Ten of 2005 - David's CD Waking Hour recognized in this honour
